The practice

What is SWAMI?

SWAMI is Richard Aceves’ movement-informed breathwork practice: a guided way to connect breath, muscle contraction, and attention so you can hear what your body has been trying to tell you.

It is simple, but it is not passive. You will use smooth breathing, targeted contractions, relaxation, and guided awareness to explore where you feel connected, where you feel stuck, and what shifts when you give your body room to speak.

“The body doesn’t lie.”

01

Inhale through the nose

02

Create gentle, guided tension

03

Exhale slowly and let the body relax

No forcing. No breath-holding. No need to perform.

The experience

What we’ll do together

Richard will guide you live through a 90-minute experience designed to help you slow down, feel more, and explore your body without trying to get everything right.

01

Settle into your breath

Learn a simple, smooth rhythm: breathe in through the nose, breathe out through soft lips.

02

Connect breath and body

Pair your breath with controlled contraction and full relaxation of guided muscle groups.

03

Explore key areas

Bring attention to areas such as the lower abs, glutes, chest, hips, and shoulders.

04

Come back to the present

Use simple cues, positional adjustments, and light self-touch and tapping to notice what is happening now.

05

Notice without judging

You may notice tension, warmth, emotion, ease, clarity, or nothing dramatic at all. It is all information.

06

Land and reflect

Finish with space to settle, journal if you want, and ask questions.

Is this for you

This is for you if…

  • Your mind is loud and you want a more practical route back to presence.
  • You feel disconnected from your body or your breath.
  • You train, but struggle to feel certain muscles working the way you want.
  • You hold recurring tension in your hips, low back, shoulders, chest, or jaw.
  • You are curious about breathwork but not interested in vague wellness language.
  • You want to experience the foundation of Richard’s work before pursuing coaching, Moved Academy, or Movement Ayahuasca.

You do not need to arrive calm, flexible, fit, or “good” at breathwork. You just need to show up.

Before you join

Come as you are. Bring the basics.

  • Comfortable clothing
  • Water
  • A yoga mat if you prefer your own
  • A journal or notes app, if you want to capture what comes up

If you already know the practice, you can keep a light kettlebell or sandbag nearby. It is completely optional and not needed for the session. Arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in.

A quick note before you join

This is an educational, movement-informed breathwork experience. It is not medical care, psychotherapy, or a substitute for either. Work within your own capacity. You are always in control of your pace and may pause, change position, or stop at any time.

If you are pregnant; have a cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, or other medical condition; are recovering from surgery or injury; have a history of panic, trauma, or mental-health concerns; or take medication that may affect your response to intense breathing or exercise, consult a qualified healthcare professional before participating.

If you feel dizzy, faint, panicked, numb, overwhelmed, or unwell during the session, return to normal breathing, get comfortable, and stop participating as needed.

You can read about connection all day.
At some point, you have to feel it.
